ILL service for SUNY Potsdam students, faculty and staff is always free of charge.
Although ILL service is free to users, the average cost to the library for each completed interlibrary loan transaction is approximately $30 to $50 in copyright fees or mailing costs. Users are encouraged to use the service judiciously to avoid unnecessary expense for the college and to inform ILL staff if a previously requested item is no longer needed.
In rare instances, other libraries will charge our library additional fees for a loan. You will never be asked to pay these fees, although you may be asked to speak to a librarian before the material is borrowed. See this FAQ for more information.
