We have ebooks from several vendors in BearCat - just follow the link to access the book using any web browser.
For books from ebrary, you will be able to "page" through the book or link from the contents list to a particular chapter or section of the book. You can also use the search box to find where words or phrases appear in the book. If you want to use special features, you must create a user account with the vendor. Once you have this account you will be able to download PORTIONS of the book -- the option and amount varies according to publisher limitations.
Springer Link offers the book content by chapter or section for reading or downloading. You many also have the option to download the entire work. There is an option to search by words or phrase to find where they appear in the book content.
When searching in BearCat, use the drop down menu under "Change Collection" to choose "Online Resources". Most of your results will be e-books.
We have several electronic collections of ebooks -- ebrary and Springerlink for example. If you want to search a specific collection, choose "Online Resources" on the Libraries' Website and then open the menu under Electronic Books and Scripts and choose the specific collection you want to search.
