Note:

  1. If you are a student taking classes at Jefferson Community College through out Watertown programs, please review the library information for students in Watertown to see what services are offered to you.
  2. If you are a student taking classes completely virtually, please email library@potsdam.edu with your request and we will work with you individually.

Main Answer:

We do have several collections of electronic books which can be searched on our books page.

For physical books, you must pick them up at the library, though you can request them ahead of time through our LaMP service.

To request physical books:

  1. Go to BearCat and log in
  2. Search.  When you find something you would like, click on the title.
  3. If the item is available, there should be a link to "request library materials pickup" in the Get It section.
  4. if we don't own the book, or it is already checked out to someone else, then broaden your search from the SUNY Potsdam Library Catalog to All SUNY Library Catalogs to see if it is available elsewhere in the system.
  5. If it is, then click "SUNY resource sharing" in the How to Get It section to get it from another SUNY

To Get Articles:

Simply search in our databases to locate articles of interest, and if we do not have the full-text available, you should see in interlibrary loan link when you click the green "findit button. Interlibrary loan delivers articles electronically rather than physically, so our regular Interlibrary Loan processes work remotely for article requests.
